The client gave me a portfolio design made for ultrawide screens. I turned it into a website and adapted the composition for a standard monitor too.
The challenge
The composition started from a very wide screen. The horizontal scroll had to keep its rhythm and visual hierarchy on a standard monitor.
Decisions and implementation
I used the project as an opportunity to learn Next.js. I built the horizontal flow and used min() and clamp() to control type and block sizes across both display formats.
Result
The site is live at josstudio.mx and follows the design the client provided on standard and ultrawide monitors.
What I would improve next
I would test more viewport widths between the two formats and document how those checks shaped the min() and clamp() limits.
